Background
Volvo GTO in Skövde is producing components and heavy-duty diesel engines for several applications (Trucks, construction equipment, industrial engines, marine engines etc.). The main processes in Skövde are Foundry, Machining and Assembly.
We are now facing a major transformation journey in terms of new products and digitalization of our operations. We hope that you want to be part of and contribute to that journey.
In the spring of 2021, the engineering department launched a program to strengthen our knowledge in several key areas that had been identified as important for our transformation journey. The program is called Upskill and have four main Modules, Change management, Digitalization, Sustainability and Product & Process. Each main Module are divided into several sub modules.
Purpose
The purpose of this project is to further develop the sub module Visualization & Analytics under the main Module Digitalization with education material, videos and validation assignments regarding the five steps in Industry 4.0. Furthermore, develop framework for competence development and implementation for Visualization & Analytics in manufacturing
Goals
Suggest a framework for change management for Visualization & Analytics
Create a recommended path for competence development
Create implementation roadmaps for manufacturing departments
Explore already created education material regarding Visualization & Analytics
Create education videos and trainings in collaboration with Volvo University
Project details
For this project we want one or two students with a suitable background on at least a bachelor level. The work will start after an agreement with the goal to be finished before the summer 2023.
