Job Description

As Competence Lead/Software Engineer at H&M Group you will have dual focus – leadership and hands on coding. You will be an ambassador and implement H&M Group's vision, goals, strategies, and values, as well as always support your employees. You will have the chance to grow in your expertise within your product team and, in your leadership role, help your colleagues to grow in the area of their passion.
What will you do?
We asked one of our Competence Leads what a normal day could look like, this is what she told us:
“A normal day starts with opening e-mails and going through the to-do´s of the day. Followed up by a check-in with an employee, coaching them around their work and how the team is doing. You jump into your own team’s stand-up and move on to spend some alone time to do your individual work for the team. After lunch you participate in the management team meeting to discuss leadership and WoW in the area. This is followed by a couple of hours of pair programming with a team member. To finish up the day you start prepping for tomorrow's refinement and go over your stories to be prepared.”
Your managing responsibilities include:
Coach and mentor to help your employees become the best they can be
Collaborate with Product owners and Agile coaches on development and workforce planning
Participate in recruiting of new employees
Work with performance management and salary review for your employees
Remain compliant with laws and policies

Some of your daily development work includes:
Design, develop and support solutions used by millions of customers worldwide
Create cloud enabling microservices architecture
Collaborate with other cross functional global product teams
Seek opportunities to automate, document and improve processes

Who are you?
To be successful in this role we believe you are equally passionate about being a leader as well as working hands-on with tech. We believe you can apply leading software development practices and present alternative solutions and technical choices. To do this, we think you have a curious mindset, excellent communication skills as well as:
Excellent programming skills in C# and .NET
Strong experience in system architecture & software design patterns
Strong experience of designing and developing APIs, microservices, and integrations
Experience in Cloud, CI/CD, containerization, and test automation
Have acted as a leader, with management experience

It’s a plus if you:
Have worked as a SCRUM master
Have experience Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) solutions
