Job Description


Are you a skilled Software Engineer that wants to work with one of the fashion industry’s biggest tech transformations and create state of the art solutions to make an impact on a global scale? Are you also passionate about integrations, APIs, cloud, modern tech and product management and have the ability to mentor and grow your colleagues' capabilities and lead by example, then we have a once in a lifetime opportunity for you.
Business Tech is the new agile product organization within the larger H&M group. You will be part of our central Integration Enablement Team owning a product end-to-end with a mission to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations. The Integration Enablement team is within the API & Event Integration area and responsible for providing re-usable patterns and templates, advise and support product teams across H&M Group to be successful in adopting modern integration patterns and practices.


What you will do
Being a Competence Lead Software Engineer means that you have a dual focus, including both staff responsibility and contributing operationally within your product team. By contributing with your own delivery, you have a clear connection with the ongoing business to remain a relevant speaking partner for the employees. Your tasks include performance review, salary reviews and other staff related activities. You will support, coach, and help your employees grow and develop as well as work in close collaboration with Product Owners other competence leads and Software Engineers when it comes to recruiting new employees and workforce planning. You will work in an agile team, with the responsibility for creating and designing solutions that fulfil our customers' shopping experience. Some of your daily work includes:
Work with professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle
Translate product strategy and requirement into suitable, maintainable and scalable solution design
Collaborate closely with product owner and other cross-functional teams, share best practice as well as discuss and motivate design solutions



Who you are
As a Competence Lead Software Engineer at H&M Group you will embark on a journey that will lead to something new and exciting - we will test, fail and learn. For the Competence Lead assignment, we are looking for someone who has demonstrated potential for the leadership we aspire for within Business Tech. Previous experience from leadership and staff responsibility is of merit, but not required.
You are an important player in this transformation, and so we believe you are communicative, flexible, stress-resistant, and able to work in an environment that is not fully formalized. You have previous experience from working in large companies with many stakeholders, you have worked with distributed teams, with integration platforms and you know how to translate business requirements and visualize technical roadmaps. We also believe that you have:
Deep knowledge of integration principles and integration solutions
Familiar with APIs and Event driven Architecture and how to implement this on a large scale in an Enterprise
Deep understanding of public cloud technologies (Azure as GCP primary, AWS also relevant)
Programming skills (java, .net)
Experience in Cloud and Ci/CD practices
Driven and curious with the passion to learn
Ability to translate needs and pains into re-usable and automated solutions that create value
Great communications skills with a strong ability to simplify the complex and make things tangible
