Job Description


Join us as a Software Engineer / Competence Lead and deliver a modern world class digital workplace experience enabling H&M Group colleagues to delight and surprise our customers - today, tomorrow and in the future.
What will you do?
As a Competence Lead you will have staff responsibility for employees within the same/adjacent competence as your own, working in different product teams within the same product area. Your staff responsibility goes across different Product Teams and tasks include development conversations, salary review and other staff related activities. You will support, coach and help your team members grow and develop.
You will work closely with the product owners within the product area, as well as other competence leads, software engineers and business experts. You will be able to try out your creative and innovative ideas – and have a large impact on how we shape the future of fashion retail logistics.
As a software engineer you are expected to take part of all phases of the software development lifecycle, design, development, test, release and maintenance and translates business needs into working software. This is achieved through continuous attention to technical excellence and good design, with extensive use of automation.
Your responsibilities
You will be a part of a small cross-functional and cross-competent team with great opportunity to impact a big organization. By contributing with your own delivery within your team you have a clear connection with the ongoing business to remain a relevant speaking partner for the employees. Within the Global Payments Area you will have a broad view of the colleague needs and see the connections between larger business goals, customer needs and priorities.


Some of your daily work includes:
• Develop, coach and keep an ongoing dialogue with members in your competence team.
• Remain compliant with laws and policies, and act when necessary regarding e.g. under performance, work environment, etc.
• Recruit new employees in your competence area.
• Contribute with Software Engineer expertise in the Payments context to improve and develop products that solve business problem and aim to create a best-in-class payments customer experience·
• Design, develop and support the solutions in the products.
• Translate strategies and requirements into modern and scalable solution designs.
• Use an experimental mindset to identify, evaluate and recommend alternative designs.
• Collaborate with other product teams to help and provide the best end-user experience.
• Seek opportunities to automate, document and improve processes .
• Work with performance management and salary review for your employees.


Qualifications


Who are you?
As a Software Engineer / Competence Lead at H&M Group we believe you have the ability to apply leading software development practices and present alternative solutions and technical choices. To do this, we think you have a curious mindset, excellent communication skills as well as:
Previous experience of people management for software engineers
• 7+ years of coding experience, in C# or Java, preferred experience in event driven design and clean code principles.
• Experience of designing and developing cloud-based, mission-critical APIs and microservices solutions as well as identifying and applying relevant software design patterns.
• Experience in working with Microsoft Azure cloud environment and resources like API Management, Kubernetes, Cosmos DB and other.
• Have a “you build it you run it” mindset
• Experience of DevOps and CI/CD in cloud environments
It’s a plus if you:
• Have acted as a leader and have experience from servant leadership within an agile framework.
• Previous work experience in Payments or FinTech with an understanding of payments regulations, PCI, PSD2 etc.
