Competitive Intelligence Analyst

Division Biomaterials is looking for a Competitive Intelligence Analyst, specializing in emerging business with location in our Innovation centre for Biomaterials in Stockholm. Your role will be to support and assist business development for our innovation projects by analysing market and competitor data and identifying customer/consumer needs and market trends. Your role is key in supporting the right understanding of market segments and potential market opportunities and points of differentiation for sustainable, bio-based product solutions. Our competitive intelligence works as pool of CI specialists supporting both our current pulp business, as well as exploring new markets for our new renewable solutions replacing fossil-based materials. You will be reporting to the VP of Marketing, CI and Product Management.
Tasks
•         Proactively support the business teams in identifying and validating customer needs
•         Identify knowledge gaps and research needs and propose methods to close them
•         Create reports and market analysis to support fact-based decision-making by analysing internal and external data, consumer and customer markets, trends, macroeconomic drivers, technology development and industry information from multiple databases and market & industry sources
•         Proactively deliver business and market intelligence and information, analysing, synthesizing, and interpreting findings, in order to identify threats and opportunities to on-going development projects
•         Continuously evaluate current sources based on agreed criteria (e.g. market & industry databases, studies & reports, associations, publications, consultants, social media and conferences) and make recommendations for new sources and areas for improvement.
•         Coordinate business & market intelligence information and updates (i.e. reports, dashboards, definitions, etc) to project teams and management for periodic newsletters, internal and external presentations
•         Coordinate calls with industry experts and participate in trade exhibitions and conferences to get deeper insights
•         Participate in the development of common tools, templates and ways of working in the competitive intelligence function.
Requirements
•         BS/MS in business administration, marketing and/or natural sciences
•         At least 5 years’ experience in business intelligence/market research – if in chemical industry or with going into new markets, it is an advantage
•         Strong collaboration & interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work well in cross-cultural teams
•         Proficient in English, other languages considered an advantage
•         Excellent MS Office skills
•         Discernment and readiness to defend own views
•         Basics of financial knowledge
•         Conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills
•         Must be detailed, precise and well organized as well as being able to see the big picture
•         A “hands-on” ambitious individual who enjoys meaningful tasks and is service-minded, but also wants to develop own work and has ideas on how to improve
•         Experience in doing quantitative and qualitative customer/consumer research and working with research agencies in B2B environment is an advantage.
