About the role
We are looking for a driven and committed Competitive Intelligence Analyst to become part of the Strategy and Competitive Intelligence team. Our team is responsible for developing the long-term strategic direction for the Group and for systematically collecting, analyzing and reporting external competitive environment and market conditions impacting Essity’s business, providing insight and foresight and thereby supporting strategic decision making across Essity.
The position is located at the Essity head office in the Waterfront Building, just a couple of minutes from the Stockholm Central Station. The Stockholm office includes around 120 experts from the group functions Finance, Legal, Human Resources and Communications, as well as the CEO office. You will be reporting to the Competitive Intelligence Director, primarily supporting Essity’s management teams but also having a supporting role across business units, global units and functions.
What you will do
You will lead or support recurring reporting, primarily in the areas of macroeconomics, cost drivers and competitor analysis, but also e.g., megatrends, market shares reporting etc. to deliver insightful market environment analysis that supports fact-based decision making and value creation at Essity. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement in terms of data handling, reporting processes, visualizations, content quality and ways of working.
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
· Macroeconomic and cost driver analysis and reporting: On a regular basis monitor and report on key developments in the global economy and raw materials.
· Competitor analysis: Monitoring, collection, analysis and reporting of competitor’s financial performance and strategic moves.
· Identify potential efficiency gains in data handling and reporting and suggest improvements. Adjust reports according to stakeholder needs and requirements.
· Conduct research on prioritized topics, analyze, summarize and conclude. Evaluate large volumes of data to detect trends and identify important details that will be relevant to business leaders looking to improve their strategies. Consolidate the information into actionable reports and presentations.
· Support strategic analysis on prioritized topics
· Support in evaluating and purchasing external information
· Participate in prioritized internal networks
· Project participation and support

You have:
· University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent relevant area
· Probably around 1-3 years of working experience e.g. within consultancy or an analytical/reporting role, in areas related to Essity’s business is an advantage
· Knowledge in macroeconomics and/or company financial analysis is an advantage
· Strong analytical and critical thinking. Ability to analyze and interpret large amounts of data, ask the right questions, derive analytics-driven recommendations for decisions and actions
· Excellent skills in MS Office, especially Excel and Power Point, and experience from working with state-of-the-art digital competitive intelligence tools.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills in written and spoken English
