Arbetsbeskrivning
We have an exciting business - delivering cutting edge products and solutions to our mining and construction customers across the globe, and solving the ever-increasing safety, sustainability, productivity and profitability challenges of the market. In 2019, Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology had around 14 000 employees and a total revenue of 45 billion SEK across 9 different divisions and 14 sales areas, including a market leading digital and automation offering.
Our Legal and Compliance Common function plays a central part in our business strategy, and now we are looking for a Compliance Director to join us. Someone who is eager to take lead in creating awareness and actively promoting the importance of compliance throughout the entire organization.
Your mission
This is a visible role with responsibility for our full suite of global compliance programs and culture. You support our senior management and business area with expertise and advise in compliance matters - monitoring the changing needs and evolving landscape of our business. Through audits, communication and training, you create a strong awareness of the importance of compliance to both Sandvik’s reputation and profitability and ensure we are well equipped for managing both risks and opportunities. A big part of your job is linking compliance with our sustainability agenda and inspiring change in line with the Sandvik 2030 sustainability goals. You also benchmark and follow digital compliance trends to keep us ahead, and you ensure adherence with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines – both within the Sandvik Group and externally.
You lead and develop a team of Compliance Officers – strategically and in their daily operations – as well as building and developing global networks and collaborations to influence a strong compliance culture. Your ability to link compliance to business success inspires improvements and drives common synergies, and you fully engage in protecting and strengthening our company values and code of ethics. You are also our link to the Sandvik Group’s Compliance functional council ensuring collaboration across Sandvik’s other business areas and up to Sandvik Group Executive Management and the Board.
You report directly to the Business Area General Counsel. The location is in Stockholm, and travel between our sites in Sweden and some additional international travel are also part of your job.
Your character
For this position, we need someone with a relevant degree – such as Law, Business Administration or Finance – in combination with expert knowledge of compliance, governance, audits and risk management. Implementing global compliance programs, driving change and guiding senior management is part of your previous career, and experiences from the manufacturing industry is a strong advantage. Your leadership style is inclusive, transparent and credible. You master stakeholder management and are skilled in inspiring people around you to reach their full potential. You are also tech savvy and want to explore how compliance matters can benefit from digital solutions. Doing business in all corners of the world requires a cultural awareness and excellent communication skills in English, while knowledge of other languages including Swedish is a plus.
Mixing a broad perspective with analyzing complex details, and critically evaluating the risks and rewards of your next steps are your key success factors. You are persistent, organized and know how to prioritize, and your agility and passion for change inspire people around you and create a strong buy-in across the organization.
Our culture

For us, success is a team effort, and we value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive culture where people can be themselves and reach their full potential. So, we invest in supporting each other, learning together and celebrating our differences.
