Job Description
We are now hiring a Compliance Specialist at Supply Sustainability! In our function one purpose is to manage implementation of IWAY, the IKEA way for responsibly procuring products, services, materials, and components. It’s our supplier code of conduct that sets clear requirements and ways of working with environmental, social, and working conditions, as well as animal welfare, for all IKEA suppliers and service providers.
In this position you will report to the IWAY Development Leader in IKEA Supply.
About the role
As a compliance specialist you will contribute to the business by ensuring the integrity, credibility and effectiveness of the IWAY system throughout the IKEA supply chain.
Your assignment includes to:
Strategize and plan the continuous program for external verification and assurance of IWAY implementation in IKEA Supply
Define and lead implementation of effective and efficient ways of working
Vendor management (define needs, manage operational relationship with contracted third parties)
Onboarding, competence development and approval of third-party assessors
Operational coordination of third-party assurance activities with relevant internal and external stakeholders
Analyse results and take continuous learnings from the program. Lead implementation of identified improvements across the organization
Lead and/or participate in various development projects connected to sustainability compliance in IKEA Supply.

Qualifications
In order to shine in this role, we hope to see that you check the following boxes:
Formal training and education in sustainability or closely related field
Minimum 5 years experience working with a wide range of sustainability compliance issues in a multinational business.
Advanced leadership skills & excellent communication in both spoken and written English
Deep knowledge & awareness of sustainability trends and issues
Ability to understand the needs of the business and of society and build strategy and approaches
Ability to engage internal and external stakeholders and influence change
Ability to think strategically and translate this into operational actions
Ability to challenge and develop existing ways of working
It is a bonus if you have deep understanding of the IKEA business model.

The IKEA Supply sustainability functions assignment is to 1) secure and verify that all materials, products and services are sourced, produced, and delivered to IKEA franchisees in line with our sustainability strategy 2) develop and implement our IKEA sourcing standards and programs as well as working with international third-party standards 3) integrate sustainability into relevant business processes, and ensure relevant goals, measurements and follow-up on development and performance across the supply chain.
