Today IKEA Components have around forty Development Engineers and Specialists that work with developing customer- and environmental friendly fitting solutions for IKEA: s home furniture products. In order to develop next generation?s fitting solutions we need to strengthen our organisation with skilled and experienced Development Engineers.

As a Component Development Engineer some of your main tasks will be to:
· Work in close collaboration with IKEA of Sweden in projects for the development of the existing and future unique solutions of components for IKEA products
· Drive/ take part in innovative development projects
· Create and maintain the technical documentation
· Work with the standardization of the component range

You will be working on finding innovative solutions within specific areas, such as hinge systems, drawer systems and sliding door systems.

Is this the challenge for you?
We are looking for you who are a Design Engineer/ Mechanical Engineer, preferably with at least five years of experience in construction. Competence in common mechanical production and metal, especially thin sheet construction is desirable. FEM analysis, dampers, electric equipment are other areas we need to strengthen. Knowledge of various computer systems such as CAD systems is a requirement. You should be fluent in English, both written and spoken.

As a person you are innovative and you always see solutions instead of problems. Your driving force is to develop products. In order to sell your ideas to the organization you must be open- and business minded. You are a team player and at the same time you have the ability to work independently when required. In order to succeed in this role, it is important that you share the IKEA values such as simplicity, honesty and humbleness.

The job is located in Älmhult and you will travel 25-30 days per year.
