Component Engineer

Our division Propulsion & Controls (PPC) is responsible for delivering propulsion and control systems in the front edge of technology to a worldwide market. Our systems are the heart, the brain and the muscles of the train.

We are currently looking for a Component Engineer to join our PPC team in Västerås
Your Role
The component engineer manages all technical issues together with the sub-suppliers during the life cycle of a component.
The sphere of your activity is divided into two main levels: at the component level and at the supplier level.
At the component level, you will be responsible for concept design definition and conducting detailed design development. These products are released in production after close inspection and verification of the products.
At the supplier level, you will be responsible of transferring the requirements from the Order Project Team towards the sub-suppliers that will later make suggestions on the components that would fit the manufacturing process best.
Another important stake-holder in the process is the Supplier Quality Assurance Team as well as the Supply Management Team who will perform FMEA and FAI. Together with these teams, you will define the conformant components in order to ensure that our final products meet requirements in terms of technical Functionality, Quality and Cost in the given railway system application.
Your Profile
You have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role
You have a background in electrical engineering, preferably towards magnetic components or circuit breakers.
Your academic background has also focused on electrical engineering
You have held previous contact with Suppliers or Quality Teams.
