Component Engineer

We currently have an opportunity for a Component Engineer in our Rail Control Solutions (RCS) Division based in Stockholm. In this role you will be responsible for surveying the component market, analyzing future and trends, as well as communicate this to all engineers developing new products and maintaining released products.You will also drive the standardization of a common component list within the Division and documenting all component problems related to released products. The key responsibilities of the role holder include maintaining the common component database by actively driving the component standardization within RCS. The aim is to have a manageable list of components while still satisfying the needs of the development department.The tasks encompass educating and support our hardware development engineers in their work in order to select suitable components within their design; pro-actively monitor the availability of the components used in RCS product portfolio to identify the products affected by components going obsolete; identify and approve/recommend suitable alternatives to obsolete components; support our suppliers finding obsolete components in the market.Candidates must have solid knowledge about occurring electronic components on the market.You will also possess documented experience in working with component suppliers and manufacturers of electronic products along with experience of working with the development of electronic products. You will possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills, and will be comfortable working with a diverse range of people at levels within the organization.Successful candidates will be self-motivated and will be comfortable working both in isolation of as part of a team.You will be computer literate and familiar with MS Office products. Candidates will also have the ability to successfully manage and prioritize workload in line with pre-determined deadlines.A degree or equivalent in Electronical Engineering would be an advantage coupled with 7-10 relevant functional years of expertise and be fluent in both Swedish and English.
