We are the hardware development group at Powertrain E&E (Electrics & Electronics). At Powertrain E&E, we work together as a team, agile and with the mindset to continuously grow our employees and improve our embedded platforms, to support the strive towards our vision - To provide the best automotive embedded platform in the world for all brands within the Volvo Group.


We develop embedded platforms for engines, transmissions, and full electric/hybrid powertrains for the complete Volvo Group. Our group is responsible for the hardware in the embedded platforms, and right now we are facing the challenge to develop our next generation embedded platforms of Electric Propulsion, Battery, Fuel Cell, Engine and Transmission control units.


We do this to secure that the current and future powertrain systems (the heart of the truck) are behaving according to requirements as well as Volvo’s high expectation on our products.


About the role


As Component Engineer you will be responsible for the application of the embedded platform components. You will capture the requirements from the application and deliver the documentation needed to realize it, plan and secure the verification activities, analyze the test results and the components tested, to make sure the application of the embedded platform component meets all requirements and will perform with the highest quality level and performance.


Besides support testing of the components in test rigs, there will also be opportunities to attend field tests of the applications, testing and experiencing the components in their real usage.


In addition you will help resolve quality issues that arise within projects or from the field, and you will work together with the supplier and other functions within Volvo to resolve them. With the lessons learned you’ll contribute to improve the design of the component, and to make it an even better fit for the applications.


Who are you?


We believe that you are genuinely interested in electronics engineering and can both provide and drive ideas. On top of that you have good communication skills and are open-minded! On par with the rest of our team you are curious, positive, proactive and, want to work in the automotive business!


Requirements:
You are an Electronics Engineer with a B.Sc./M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering or recognized equivalent.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

It is considered a merit if you have experience within one or several of the following:
KOLA, DimCM, and other Volvo Group technology tools and methods.
