We make sure to have the most suitable suppliers and utilize them to achieve maximum contribution both commercially and technically. What you'll do here as Component engineer:
As component engineer mechanics you will be responsible for approving second source tools and parts to secure our volume production and growth especially within plastic injection and aluminum die-casting. You will work in close cooperation with our suppliers to optimize tooling design, reduce process time and yield improvements to decrease cost and reduce supply risks. Furthermore, you will drive cost out activities for specific products together with mechanical commodity teams. You will play an important role in proactive risk management process and have responsibility for driving activities together with your colleagues to ensure that our product design and component choices give us best prerequisites for a resilient supply chain.

The job includes:

* Qualifying second source parts and tools.
* Close cooperation with our suppliers to optimize tooling design, process time and improving yield.
* Drive cost out activities and value engineering for released products.
* Close cooperation with commodity managers/teams when evaluate new and existing suppliers technical capabilities.
* Maintenance of product database.

The position requires approximately 10-15 days of travelling a year, depending on pandemic situation.

Who are we looking for/Who are you?:

We'd love to hear that you have/are:

* Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
* Minimum 1 years' experience within mechanical design or relevant job.
* Experience in 3D CAD - preferably Creo/Pro-E.
* Read and understand 2D drawings and geometrical tolerance settings (GPS).
* Experience from tooling design - preferable plastic injection and/or die-casting (aluminum/zinc).
* A business mind and enjoy daily contact with suppliers.
* Strong ability to collaborate across organizational and cultural boarders.
* Excellent skills in English, both oral and writing.
* Hands on approach and are used to do what needs to be done.
