Computational Fluid Dynamics Simulation Engineer

Would you like to contribute to the development of world class powertrains? AVL Scandinavia Powertrain Engineering has approx 190 employees based in Gothenburg, Södertälje and Haninge. We are currently looking for experienced CFD simulation engineers. The work tasks will be to support powertrain development projects with numerical simulation analysis in collaboration with experts in the global AVL team and our successful customers.


Your Responsibilities:
Independently deliver high quality simulation and analysis results
Recommend suitable analysis, based on the problem condition
Review presentations and data for compliance with good engineering principles and customer requirements
Prepare and present quality results to internal and external customers
Write detailed technical reports to document analysis work
Support our customers in their development projects of powertrains and vehicles

Your Profile:
CFD simulation engineer with experience from powertrain and vehicle performance simulation with any of the following skills: Combustion analysis (CI, SI and alternative combustion modes) including spray formation, heat release and emission formation; Thermal management / Cooling of engines, motors and batteries; Exhaust/intake system analysis
Simulation of exhaust aftertreatment systems
Experience with CFD codes such as AVL FIRE, STAR-CD/STAR-CCM+ or Fluent is a merit
Experience of product development projects and understanding of the role of CFD as an engineering tool in the development process
Experience of performing thermodynamic analysies on engines using tools such as GT-Power or AVL BOOST is a merit
Very good social and communication skills and service minded
Ambitious, accurate, methodical, creative and positive minded team player
Eager to learn and guide your co-workers within your specialty
Master's degree in Engineering (Engineering Physics or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent
Fluent Swedish and English (both spoken and written), German is a merit
Genuine interest and knowledge of engines, transmissions and vehicles
