Software engineering is an increasingly important area in the automotive industry. Our client is bringing more of the software development in-house to better handle continuous integration and the complex interactions between different functions. Connectivity is an enabler for most vehicle functions, including diagnostics and data collection, but also introduces privacy and cybersecurity risks that needs to be managed through innovative and robust designs.

We at Connected Experience are a unit within Research & Development with a clear purpose to make our consumers feel special and rewarded by delivering leading Scandinavian design and seamless connectivity. We work in a fun and high pace organization, and you now have the possibility to join Vehicle Data & Diagnostics department. Our department supports the organization with a standardized way of working to develop complete diagnostic systems, to educate people within the diagnostic domain as well as gathering diagnostic and related data from fleet cars to provide general tools needed for analysis of data.

In the Vehicle Data & Diagnostics department within the unit Connected Experience, we put high quality vehicle data at the fingertips of engineers and enable uptime through diagnostics. We are growing and we are therefore now looking for curious, creative people who want to change the world through innovative thinking.

We are looking for a SW developer for the data collection backend team

Our team develops and maintains an end-to-end solution that uses the mobile network to collect information about cars. The data is published within the company and used by other teams to draw conclusions about the car, improving ownership experience. The solution is today used on many cars in several countries. Our technology roadmap is exciting, and you will be part of an amazing journey when we scale up with vehicles and features.

What will you do?

In your role as backend software developer, you are a member of a tight agile development team which is responsible to deliver the end-to-end solution for the data collection and measurement capabilities. You will develop backend software that is deployed in cloud environments. Examples include server applications written in Java that communicate with the car using a REST API, and a Big Data backend using Apache Spark and written in Scala in order to make it possible to efficiently handle data from millions of cars.

Do you fit the profile?

You have extensive experience in big data environment, for example if you have been working with Apache Spark, that is a bonus. You are fluent in continuous Integration and delivery using Git. You are passionate about high quality code development in Java, Scala and Python. You have some experience from system engineering and software testing. You are also familiar with the Agile methods and DevOps. You are fluent in English both verbal and written. If you have had some experience in Azure Storages, Azure Databricks or AWS cloud, that is a plus.

You are person with a proactive approach, a problem solver and a flexible team player. Together with you we will have even more fun. We´d love to see that you are eager to learn, have a proactive approach when solving daily issues and you never lose your service minded thinking. You are used to work in a high pace and fast changing business, which gives you additional drive and stimulate your sense of urgency, creativity, and curiosity. You have an ability to create trust around you while influencing others with the right mindset and company culture. Furthermore, you are analytical, organized and have a great attention to details.

You are structured, enthusiastic, self-driven and results oriented. We believe that you have strong communication and analytical skills. It is meritorious to have experience in the automotive industry.
