Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
The RBB section is part of bus development, RB, and is responsible for the development of Scania's own bodies, Scania Range and responsible for the technical cooperation with all body builders in Scania's global bus market.
In Södertälje, we are creating a concept group with responsibility for ensuring that we are the best partner for the body builders by expanding our concept group. The group's main responsibility is to participate in development projects and to ensure the possibility of being able to build competitive vehicles for our customers for both internal and external bodybuilders in close collaboration with other development functions at RoD.
We are looking for a dedicated designer with experience of the complexity to manage complete vehicles. You are an experienced CATIA user and used to work with complex 3-d structures in cooperation external partners.
What you will do
You and the concept team will togehter create the future buses to drive the shift towards sustainable vehicles. As a concept designer you are expected to strongly contribute to the bus development organisation.
The role includes working with conceptual solutions together with styling, design and suppliers by setting requirements to ensure buildability and that we can create layouts that are competitive. It also includes collaborating with body builders' design departments to support and to gather information to secure requirements in rolling projects.
You will be responsible to find the best combination of demands to meet the customer expectations.
The task will be performed in Södertälje but also in connection with our development departments in Finland, Poland, Brazil and China. The work can also be carried out in collaboration with our body builders.
Who you are
You are a university engineer or civil engineer with a technical background. You must have a good ability to plan and execute the various assignments in a structured way. Experience of construction / construction from heavy vehicles is an advantage. Catia V5 is the design tool used where great experience is important. Even the habit of working with other cultures is an advantage. Good knowledge in English is a requirement.
