Concept Development Engineer - Skövde

Volvo Car Engine (VCE) has the global responsibility for engine manufacturing at Volvo Car Group. If you want to reach your personal goals together with other people, Volvo Car Engine in Skövde is the place for you to prosper.

The Manufacturing Engineering department manages the global development and implementation of manufacturing processes at Volvo Car Engine. We develop the manufacturing solutions for the future products in cross-functional collaboration with Research & Development and Purchasing. The Manufacturing Research and Concepts department is managing the technical aspects of annual, research, advanced engineering and pre-program activities within Manufacturing Engineering.

The Concept Development group is responsible for development of new manufacturing technologies and concepts, including initial assurance of product and process compatibility for new product technologies and concepts. We are now looking for an open-minded and flexible Concept Development Engineer to support our team. As a Concept Development Engineer you will lead and support investigations of new technologies and concepts for manufacturing of propulsion systems. We are striving for a high level of diversity in our teams.

Main responsibilities

* Initial assurance of product and process compatibility
* Lead and support Advanced Engineering project
* Support Swedish and European funded research projects
* Define technical input to project declaration

Required qualifications

* University degree or equivalent
* At least 10 years' experience from automotive production and manufacturing engineering
* Extensive technical knowledge in engine design and manufacturing, preferably in engine assembly
* Project management skills
* Meritorious is if you have good knowledge in Volvo Cars CAE tools.
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
