Scania’s architects' team for the connected systems platform is a team of experts in both onboard and offboard architecture where we develop Scania’s future connected platform. A platform that delivers data, information, and knowledge from our products to Scania research and development and to applications and APIs for Scania’s customers. Our team evolves architecture in cross functional teams over large parts of Scania.

Your future job

Connectivity at Scania is one of the key components in Scania’s driving the shift strategy. At Connected Systems, we work with the enabling solutions with a span from the vehicle, via Telecom networks to the Scania service platform in the cloud. As a Telematics unit and in vehicle architect you will be part of bringing new hardware and software to our vehicles and to our cloud platform. Making it a world leading heavy vehicles IoT solution.

Example of tasks:


• Design and function allocation of new applications and functions.
• Analysis of performance and cost for data and information flows.
• Leadership, guidance and development of principles for the development teams which are designing hardware and developing software for the connected platform.
• Support cross-functional system development teams
• Research and apply new solutions, partnerships and emerging technologies to system design
• Define and author requirements for vehicle connectivity to wireless networks, in concert with Infotainment System connectivity architecture, functional specifications and DFMEA
• Finally, maintaining the high modularization of the platform to make it the best fit for future requirements.

 
Who you are

For this role, you need to be a communicative and analytic person. You really enjoy communication whether it is delivered written, spoken, or as design drawings. You put the customer first and have a holistic understanding of the value chain and how our internal customers and the end customers are affected.

You have at least five years of experience in a similar area, and you most likely have a formal degree in engineering physics, electrical engineering, or computer science (or equivalent experience). Documented knowledge of the areas of Cloud Computing, IoT, Connectivity, Telecom, and the electrical system of heavy vehicles is a great advantage for this role. If you are familiar with modern Over the Air Update systems, in vehicle ethernet, Diagnostics over IP, and AUTOSAR, it is beneficial.
