Group Accounting & Consolidation are looking for a Consolidation Solution Business Specialist to join our team in Gothenburg. 


Group Accounting & Consolidation is a function within Group reporting, Tax & Control with responsibility for the external financial reporting and the consolidation process for the Volvo Group. This responsibility includes ownership of accounting instructions, time tables, and structures in the financial systems as well as development of accounting policies for the Volvo Group.


As our Consolidation Solution Business Specialist you will, together with your team, make sure that the monthly consolidations runs on a timely manner without delays and with high quality. You will have the overall holistic responsibility and understanding of the consolidation solution and the deliveries to related finance solutions. You will also make sure that the structures and master data reflects the business set-up of the Volvo Group.

Mission/Purpose of the Job


As a Consolidation Solution Business Specialist you will be functionally responsible for governance of the system solutions for end-to-end consolidation.

For this position we are looking for a person who is willing to take on exciting challenges in an organization committed to deliver quality and efficiency in financial reporting.
Be a functional leader, leading and planning the work of three employees in Master Data & Consolidation Solutions
Holistic view of consolidation and elimination logic within the Volvo Group Consolidation solution (VGCS).
Responsibility to lead governance meetings to safeguard end-to-end consolidation process
Responsibility for the Master Data set-up and quality
Be the main interface between Group Accounting and Volvo Group IT
Planning the monthly consolidations runs in our consolidation system VGCS
Plan and execute the consolidation system preparation for the next coming accounting year
Responsibility for data quality in the file transfer between VGCS and business control solution
Have lead, together with Volvo Group IT, to maintain and develop the consolidation solution
Approve business tests and plan implementation for change requests in the VGCS solution

The following competences will be considered as valuable
Academic degree in Accounting
Minimum of five years’ accounting experience combined with consolidation experience and with a proven interest for system solutions
Fully proficient in IFRS
Knowledge in SAP consolidation system solutions
Fluent in English and Swedish both verbal and written
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work cross functional
Collaboration skills
General business understanding
