Construction Coordinator - Installation

The Infrastructure Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a Construction Coordinator.

Description of directorate/division
The Conventional Facilities (CF) division is responsible for the planning, design and construction of all buildings and installations required for operation of the accelerator, target and instruments.

CF works also include site and infrastructure preparation, construction support, all facility buildings, user and general service buildings.

Description of main responsibilities
ESS is looking for a construction coordinator for the construction phase of ESS. The aim for the ESS project is to have a collaboration contract that means that part of the project management will come from the contractor and part will come from ESS.

We are looking for a coordinator within the fields of installation coordination, electrical, process and/or HVAC.



• Being one of the coordinators for installations within the ESS contract for construction of the ESS buildings.

• Handling one or more installations contracts within the scope of the main contractor.

• Contributing to the team with technical expertise within one or more specific installation contracts.

• Continuous follow up of work on site and within one or more specific installation contract. 

• Contributing to the team with procurement knowledge, costs and quality assurance within one or more specific installation contract.

• To transmit and obtain information from other functions within the project, mainly from the design organization within conventional facilities.

• The position can be changed where after the project evolves.

• The position could include management of a project team.

• The coordinator will regularly have to lead meetings. 

Qualifications


• Preferably a Master of Science or a Bachelor of Science within installation and/or high school/yrkesskola and continuous training.

• The coordinator needs to have technical qualifications within their field of expertise. 

• We would like the person applying for this post to have experience working for a contractor but also working for the client with installation contracts. 

• The coordinator needs to be organized and comfortable with continuous cost control.

• The coordinator should have leadership qualities and be able to work in a group.

• Experience of working in an international environment is essential

• Excellent oral and written English skills are a prerequisite

The position is permanent with six months initial probationary period. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden.
