Construction Leader to HVDC

You will be part of HVDC in Ludvika. ABB:s HVDC unit (High Voltage Direct Current) develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on the global market. The by ABB developed HVDC technology is used to transfer electrical energy over long distances and for power transmission when using undersea cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems. HVDC Light was developed by ABB and is now highly requested on the market. The technology is suitable for power systems where overhead lines cannot be used or where power grids need to be strengthened. HVDC Light is also used for offshore connections of platforms and wind power farms and is a great answer on todays need for environmentally friendly solutions.

The department Technology Plant Systems manages the delivery of auxiliary power (less than 36Kv) and other related systems, for example fire systems and HVAC systems. We also develop circuit diagrams (PCD) for the entire plant. Are you ready to take on a central position where you will ensure that our deliveries are time and cost efficient, without compromising on quality? Then the position as Design Manager could be the right opening for you. You will be responsible for our delivery projects, supported by a team of approximately five coworkers. In your daily work you will, among other things, coordinate group work and resources as well as manage contacts with other departments and external suppliers. Your experience, especially within auxiliary power and project management, will be key to your success in this position. You are computer literate and have preferably worked with installation and design of battery systems and as well as low voltage switchgears in the past. Experience of plant design is also qualifying. As you will be part of an international company it is crucial that you, apart from Swedish, are fluent in spoken and written English. Excellent team working skills are another prerequisite. You should be used to managing several tasks simultaneously, without ever losing the overall perspective. Finally, you should be a person who brings a lot of energy into the group and has a natural ability to make crucial decisions.
