The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) is seeking a Content Manager/Researcher for the SIPRI annual Stockholm Forum on Peace and Development. The focus of this position is on developing and following up on the content of the Forum, and on purposefully liaising with partners and stakeholders to that effect. Aside of Forum related activities and consultations taking place throughout the year, the holder of the position is also expected to carry out his or her own research.

The primary responsibility of the Forum Content Manager will be to prepare, execute and report on the Forum together with the Peace and Development Programme Coordinator, under the guidance of the Director of Studies of the Peace and Development research area.
The Content Manager/Researcher will be responsible for:
• Preparing the Concept Note for the Forum;
• Preparing the Forum Description and Forum Agenda;
• Execution of the Stockholm Forum on Peace and Development together with the Coordinator of the Peace and Development research area;
• Reporting on the Forum;
• Carrying out consultations with partners, participants and others who work with the Forum, both beforehand as part of preparation and afterwards to assist in assessment;
• Continuously following up on the Forum and feeding lessons learnt into SIPRI’s work throughout the year; and
• Carrying out and disseminating the results of research within the broad remit of the peace and development research area.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have as a minimum the following experience:
• PhD, or Masters degree in peace and conflict studies, development studies, political science, international relations, economics, or other related discipline with relevant experience.
• Experience from diplomatic work, external relations, or other forms of international service.
• 4-6 years of work experience relevant for the position.
• Ease of working in oral and written English with further language proficiency a useful advantage.
• Broad knowledge of peacebuilding, conflict and development.
Contract period
Starting 1 October or as soon as possible. The appointment will be a 2-year contract with possibility of extension. The post is full-time. The salary package will be negotiated individually.
The position of the Content Manager/Researcher is based in Stockholm and the successful applicant will be expected to reside in Stockholm, Sweden. The position will include travelling. This requirement must of course be balanced by the need to be present in the project as well as by the larger need for work-life balance.
