ESAB is one of the largest producers of welding consumables and equipment in the world, first founded in 1904.Today the company produces consumables and equipment for virtually every welding and cutting process and application.More than 100 years of continuous research, development and manufacturing have made ESAB the world leader in welding, cutting and also an international supplier of products, know-how and services that few can match.ESAB has subsidiaries and distributors worldwide, and about 7 800 employees.The sales for 2007 were £970.8 million.Read more at www.esab.com "Contract Manager" ESAB's Equipment & Automation business develops and manufactures a wide range of welding equipment for manual and mechanized welding applications.Engineering business belongs to global Equipment and Automation business, and works primarily with large multinational companies on big investment projects worldwide.The position as Contract Manager reports to the Global Director Engineering Sales in Sweden, with functional reporting to ESAB's Global General Counsel and Company Secretary / Legal department in London.As Contract Manager you will be in a customer-facing role participating in high value investment projects on global basis.You will have an active role in negotiations with potential and existing customers as well as with subcontractors.You will be responsible for contract analysis and participate in preparation of commercial action plans, and You will establish project procedures in order to ensure that ESAB implements and benefits from the contract specific requirements.The job also includes responsibility for the development and implementation of a contract process strategy within engineering business, and for driving the contract approval process.You will be expected to provide guidance and leadership to the project team on contractual and legal aspects.The person we are looking for will ideally have experience of commercial negotiations, international contracts, industrial terms and conditions (Orgalime, for example), and dispute resolution within an international industry such as manufacturing or engineering.The position could also suit an engineering professional with relevant background or a person with legal training or experience.We expect you to be a practised negotiator and as we are a part of a global company you need to be fluent in English, written as well as spoken. As person you should be analytical, methodical and have the ability to work independently.Since the role includes collaboration with several parts of the organisation you need to hold the ability to communicate well with all levels of the business and be a result driven teamplayer.The position is based in Gothenburg, Sweden, but being part of the global commercial team, around 50 travel days/year abroad is estimated.
