Contract Manager (Commercial & Business Management)
Role Context:
Worley is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced Contracts/Commercial Manager to join the organisation on a large and exciting major Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCm) Project.
The role will be initially based in the Worley London Brentford office for an initail 4-6 months, and will then move to Site in Sweden, following the Project needs.
This is a major opportunity for a Senior Commercial/Contracts professional to be part of a landmark, major project in the sustainability and energy transition space.
You'll be:
Act as the project team’s focal point and expert on the prime contract, commercial basis and advise the project team on all contractual matters supported by off-project expertise including legal where necessary.
Oversee change management process and ensures active pursuit of commercial entitlement.
In conjunction with the Project Director, serve as focal point to embed within the project loss avoidance techniques and ultimately generate and coordinate any claims and disputes.
Provides project financial information / management to support Worley rolling forecast and business planning.
Regularly review project performance against targets for gross margin and cash and identify corrective actions / commercial strategy with the Project Director to maximise Worley margins and deliver to as-sold position as a minimum.
Ensure that contract notices are issued in accordance with the prime contract and construction contracts and supply chain contracts, as applicable.
Establish the initial risk register based on the as-sold proposal risk assessment and ensure the risk register is maintained on a monthly basis or as otherwise agreed with the Project Director. Ensure appropriate management of contingency drawdown or release of contingency to margin.
Assist the PD on commercial matters in the monthly Worley Project Reviews (WPRs).

You'll have:
Proven experience of prime contracts management and close out.
Thorough understanding of the nature of risks via proven project experience as they relate to the engineering and construction industry.
The ability to lead/actively participate in contractual negotiations, underpinned by proven previous experience.
Ability to lead claim management with proven experience.
Ability to assess potential contractual / commercial exposure to Worley in event of project performance issues.
Knowledge, understanding and experience of project and business financial reporting.
Deep understanding and knowledge of project and business cost base and basis for project gross margin, business profit.
Demonstrated experience of projects undertaken where commercial/contract risk of equipment/material suppliers and construction contracts is taken by EPCm Contractor.
Previous experience of assignment to construction sites is preferable.
A degree and preferably chartered status.
