Contract Manager within HVDC Systems

You will be part of HVDC in Ludvika. HVDC is a business unit within the division Power Systems. ABB's HVDC unit (High Voltage Direct Current) in Ludvika develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. The ABB developed HVDC-technology is used to transfer electrical energy over long distances and for power transmission when using undersea cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems. HVDC Light was developed by ABB and is now highly requested on the market. The technology is suitable for power systems where overhead lines cannot be used or where power systems need to be strengthened. HVDC Light is also used for offshore connections of platforms and wind power and is a great answer on today's need for environmental friendly solutions.

Challenge: Are you tempted to work with extensive HVDC projects all the way from the sales phase and throughout the delivery process? Do you in addition want to use your interest for contract matters? Then you may be the right person for our project management team. In execution related contract questions you will support the Proposal Manager during the sales process but also be a part of the project team support the Project Manager during delivery of the projects. Basically, questions concerning response times and notifications to customers are part of the position. Also commercial issues in connection with client negotiations and to identify opportunities to offer additional quotes will be within your area of responsibility. Count on joining a global business in which you will work with different types of people and where you will get the opportunity to travel. You can expect around 15-20 nights away per year, and the chance to develop endlessly within your area of expertise.

Requirements: You have a Master degree in Engineering, Economics or Law. That you are an experienced Project Manager or Contract Manager is a prerequisite, as is having worked with complex contracts such as EPC agreements. Apart from good understanding of the project cycle you also need to be a skilled computer user. We use mainly the Office package but also Lotus Notes. Since we operate in an international environment excellent English is a must, whereas additional language skills will count to your advantage. It is also meritorious if you have competence in Power Systems. Regardless of your background you need the ability to work in a team, shoulder responsibility and make decisions. Since we at times are under pressure, you need to enjoy working in a fast paced environment. In other words, you are resilient, use your initiative and have a positive attitude. As our new team player it is necessary that you are as responsive as a listener as you are open in your communication.
