Alstom is recruiting a Control Engineer for its Brake System division located in Västerås, Sweden. This newly created division aims to capitalize Alstom know-how on brakes and to define brake products for its rolling stock applications. The Brakes System Department innovates and defines the brakes of the future, foster cooperation between customers, suppliers, and academics. Its scope includes product & industrial strategy, offer & contract execution, product safety, reliability improvement, and return of experience.

As Control Engineer, you are responsible for the whole functional and electrical scope of Brake System.

Your mission is to:
Define the functions of the brake system
Implement them using a combination of hardware and software solutions, while meeting reliability and safety targets and optimizing the cost
Define the electrical scheme of the brake system
Select electrical components
Define the hardware configuration of the brake control electronics
Issue the specification of the software of the brake system
Lead the software certification
Verify and tune the functions of the brake system
Contribute to the tuning of the Brake System during the tests on train


Being integrated into multicultural teams working on railway projects for the European and international market, you will develop your skills progressively in the railway domain. The role provides an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, driven individual to contribute significantly to the success of Alstom organisation.

Your profile:
Engineering degree in automatics, electronics or electricity
5-year experience in control for the railway industry
Rigor, autonomy and team working
Fluent in English
Swedish is an advantage but not a requirement
Regular travels in Europe and abroad
