As Hardware Design Engineer at the Control & Protection department you will be a member of a project team for the Control & Protection part of the HVDC delivery. Here, you will be responsible for deliverables regarding hardware within Control & Protection systems to our HVDC power transmissions.
Your responsibilities
You will be a part of the team that is responsible for the Control & Protection (C&P) Hardware solution in an HVDC delivery project.
It is your and the team’s responsibility to deliver project tasks as per requirements and according to time plan.
You will also be responsible for the design, testing, installation, and commissioning phases of C&P Hardware in customer projects to ensure your delivery is according to customer requirements and standards.
An important part of your delivery will be designing circuit diagrams for cubicles as well as external cabling diagrams between cubicles and various HVDC apparatuses, using our ELCAD tool Engineering Base.
You should also have a natural way of collaborating and networking with engineering colleagues, sharing best practice across different projects and disciplines.
Within ABB HVDC you have a technical career path as an engineer but also a possibility to grow into several roles within other parts of the organization where your experience can be utilized.

Your background
You hold a degree within engineering, Bachelor or Master’s Degree.
Work experience, more than 2 years, from similar industries and/or within projects is preferable.
Experience with the CAD-tools for control systems, such as Engineering Base, is valuable.
You are a natural problem solver, who enjoys meeting new challenges.
It will be a part of your job to communicate with other departments, team members, projects leaders and suppliers. It is therefore important that you are open-minded and straightforward in your communication.
As you will be part of a company that operates on the global arena, you must be proficient in English. Preferably you are also fluent in Swedish.
