Controls Technician

At the heart of this is our Automated Engineering, Maintenance and Robotic Repairs team who play an important part in the solution. Based on-site in Kungsängen within the Greater Stockholm region partnering with ICA they are key in maintaining an operation that delivers our partners expectations, whilst providing pivotal feedback to internal teams that enable future development of our products.
The position as Controls Technician is a hands-on role that requires excellent technical, communication and organisational skills . You will be part of a strong maintenance team and react to any breakdown of our automated machinery and conveyors as well as providing in-depth knowledge on the controls to help improve operations. You will be working closely with our centralised PLC team to provide solutions for continuous improvement
Roles and Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot software and hardware issues and implement Code fixes while working closely with Ocado’s Automation Control Team
Provide front line issues investigation of live production control systems (hardware and software) including the use of relevant diagnostic tools such as Profibus / Can Bus networks and Bar Code Readers
Analyse data and find solutions to improve MHE performance and carry out planned maintenance across the site
Provide hands on support for Firmware and software upgrades on Bots and Manage PLC version control together with Ocado’s Control team
Knowledge, Skills & Experience required:
Competency in English Language
It is essential to have experience with SCADA and Siemens HMI systems.
You also need to have a good technical ability and experience relating to automation hardware and software. A good understanding of PLC control system architecture and field control devices is required.
A good understanding of DC motor controls and Online code monitoring with Siemens S7 300/400 PLC’s and Tia-Portal
Understanding of Control System Communication Protocols such as WCS and WMS systems
Sound analytical skills, able to look at data and solve problems with full customer focus and determination to deliver results under time critical situation
Experience in a warehouse, distribution, production or FMCG environment with strong IT skills is also preffered.
Flexible working shifts
This role will require your flexibility due to us being a 24/7 operation and therefore a shift pattern will be put in place that will require working a variety of days, evenings, weekends and this pattern can include some nights. This is essential so that we can work efficiently to meet the needs of our ICA partners in Sweden but should average 40 per week.
