Who are we?


Thermal Management is a department within Vehicle Technology responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining an optimized cab climate and vehicle cooling & heating systems for all types of propulsion installations to all truck brands within the Volvo Group. We are responsible for leading the work with strategies and advanced engineering globally. We are located at Gothenburg & Bangalore and we have close cooperation with the sites in Greensboro and Lyon. We understand the final customer needs and apply our knowledge to develop technical concepts and solutions that satisfy customer and business needs. The work is based on innovation, shared technology, common architecture, and brand uniqueness.


We are now looking for an engineer to work in the coolant heater area. In the position, you will lead component development of heaters solutions for ICE and ZEV´s for all truck brands and markets within the Volvo Group. You will perform this work in close cooperation with our suppliers and colleagues representing different functions in our internal cross functional network.


By applying a strong customer focus you will follow up and secure the quality on the market for your component area. You will also be responsible for driving the strategic roadmap for the heaters, in order to meet future demands for heating of different systems in fuel cell and battery electric vehicles.
You will lead the heater technology area with great passion by applying and continuously developing your technical skills as well as your ability to make a team collaborate efficiently to reach a common goal.


Who are you?


In order to be successful in this role we believe that it is important that you recognize yourself in the following description.


Required knowledge/experience
Minimum five years of experience from development of thermal system hardware components, preferably within the automotive or transportation industry
Experience from supplier management and the APQP process
Structured way of working and ability deliver on complex tasks with excellence
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
You are a true team player, self-driven with positive, global and problem solving mind-set and you possess excellent communication skills

Meritorious to have
SW process knowledge
Experience on handling the LIN/CAN communication

Applicants shall have Masters degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering or similar.
