Let’s talk about the job
In this position, you’re responsible for managing both organic and in-organic business development projects with the aim to enable profitable growth in adjacent and new segments, markets and/or industry verticals. Your main focus is on M&A’s to support us in reaching our ambitious growth targets. Based on our corporate, business and product unit strategies, you develop in-organic growth themes, source and nurture leads, project manage and own the whole transaction process, as well as assure successful post-transaction value creation and integration. In doing this you work together with stakeholders from different parts of the Sandvik Group, interact with executive management from Sandvik Coromant and lead senior workstream leaders from e.g. sales, operations, legal, finance, tax, product/R&D/technology. Further, you work with external advisors as appropriate to facilitate successful execution of M&A-transactions.
Natural activities in this role:
Sourcing and networking with acquisition leads to assure a healthy pipeline supporting our in-organic growth targets
Performing financial analysis of target companies
Building business cases and assuring relevant company valuation is developed, as well as confidently presented to executive management
Negotiating all relevant terms and conditions for a transaction
Continuously challenging our ways of working within corporate development and M&A’s by benchmarking us towards external best-practices and own lessons learned, with the ambition to make us a world-class corporate development function
You’re part of a team of Corporate Development Analysts and other Corporate Development Managers and report to the Head of Business Development and M&A.
The locations for these positions are flexible, though we prefer Stockholm or Sandviken, and during normal circumstances, international travel is a natural part of the job.
What about you?
We’re looking for someone with an MSc or a Master’s in Economics or Business Administration. You have at least five years’ relevant professional experience, including three years within M&A, and a background from private equity, management consulting, investment banking or from a similar role in a multinational company. Experience from the manufacturing industry is beneficial. Of course, you’re skilled in the common tools of Office 365, while knowledge of Power BI is a plus. As we act on the global stage, you need excellent skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
Your analytical skills, entrepreneurial mindset and change management experience enables you to prioritize and respond well to changing demands from multiple sources, and you have a strong desire to learn and grow in your role and inspire continuous improvements. With your outstanding people skills, you easily interact and build networks with stakeholders on all levels, and as a team player, you bring out the best in everyone, and thereby help us reach new levels! In addition, you’re a good communicator capable of presenting complex information in a concatenated and pedagogical way, and you communicate effectively with executive and senior management.
