CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY DIRECTOR – HUMAN RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBLE SALES

With an ambition to intensify the efforts to conduct sustainable business throughout the Volvo Group we are looking forward to welcoming an experienced leader to drive our human rights and responsible sales work in the Corporate Responsibility team, at the Volvo Group Headquarters.
The Corporate Responsibility function is our central sustainability team with the responsibility to drive and implement the overall sustainability agenda of the Group, in alignment with the overall company strategy and in close collaboration with other group functions, business areas and truck divisions.
As Corporate Responsibility director human rights and responsible sales you will develop and execute policies and programs to promote Group ambitions in the sustainability area and act as a key partner to the organization; enabling and empowering the businesses to take a proactive approach to social, environmental and governance challenges. You will report directly to the Chief Sustainability Officer of the Volvo Group.
Specifically, you will:
Lead and facilitate the Volvo Group’s human rights work across the value chain including governance, policy, program, due-diligence, performance management, training, and reporting in line with established roles and responsibilities across the organization.
Support the Volvo Group’s truck divisions, business areas, and group functions for continued integration of human rights throughout our business including building internal knowledge and competence across a range of business functions.
Provide expert advice to our organizations and senior management on human rights risks and impacts with robust guidance, tools, and methodologies.
Lead and support our business areas on responsible sales including high-risk contexts.
Measure performance on human rights and responsible sales in line with defined ambitions, targets and plans and facilitate internal and external reporting.
Communicate and engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders (including the Volvo Group senior management, investors, customers, and civil society organizations) on the topics of human rights and responsible sales.
Be an active member of the Volvo Group Corporate Responsibility team and governance forums with the aim to deliver to the totality of the Volvo Group Sustainability Strategy.
To be successful in this role, you have:
Proven track record in driving business and human rights in global organizations.
Deep knowledge of international human and labor rights frameworks, and the rapidly evolving legal and regulatory landscape on business and human rights.
Strong change management and trust building capability to work across the Volvo Group’s truck divisions, business areas, and group functions for continued integration of human rights across our business.
Know-how and experience in performing human rights due diligence including onsite visits and stakeholder engagement.
Higher education such as master’s degree in a relevant area such as business, management studies, human rights, or similar.
Experience in engagement with a wide range of internal and external stakeholder including senior executives, investors, customers, NGOs, media etc.
Experience in delivering trainings to a wide range of audiences at all levels of a business organization.
Project management skills involving a wide range of internal/external stakeholders in multiple. countries and cultures.
Ability to travel internationally, as needed.
