Technological developments will over time revolution the relationship Scania has with its customers and the company’s role in the transport value chain. Through this transformation Scania will adapt from being a supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to also being a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Mobility Solutions is our new business area with the mission to lead Scania’s ambition to take a larger role in the transport ecosystem. Today Mobility Solutions primarily focus on driving Scania’s autonomous transport roadmap and providing Transport-as-a-Service (LOTS Group). Tomorrow, we look to develop and deliver new businesses supporting Scania’s long-term growth and profitability through our new Corporate Venturing function.

The position

At Scania we are currently setting up our corporate venturing function which will strengthen our capabilities to tap into new revenue pools by exploring new ideas and start and grow new ventures.

To achieve our goal, we are now looking for an experienced Sales Manager to our new Venturing function which will report to Head of Scania Ventures at Mobility Solutions. You will be of outmost importance when it comes to sales and coaching our ventures to future success. You will be relied upon to lead our way into markets, potential customers and partners. Your key task is to hands on, build up our customer portfolio and manage the biggest accounts. You will also be relied upon to guide and direct the venture teams where needed.

Key tasks

As we are in the early stages of establishing our Corporate Venturing business, we are recruiting high performing talents to both accelerate new business ventures and a small, tight core team to run and operate the function. In this role, you will be part of our core team with the focus to lead the sales in the various ventures in our portfolio. Apart from that you will also be strongly involved in coaching the venture teams to ensure progress and success.

Your key tasks will be:


• Successful business development of selected ventures within the transport ecosystem
• Tight collaboration, coaching and hands on support to venture teams and participants (e.g. sales acceleration, story building, go to market strategies, entrepreneurial mindset)
• Build and manage a portfolio of key customers, negotiate contracts and develop long lasting relationships
• Work together with the Venture core team and Mobility Solutions strategy department to develop and execute on Scania’s future business model strategy
• Work together with the Venture core team to run and operate the function successfully
• Proactively assess and evaluate business opportunities

We believe that you fulfil a number of the following requirements


• You have a Master’s degree or equivalent and 10+ years of experience working with business development
• You bring deep knowledge and experience of complex and consultative sales
• You have a high ability to build and develop lasting relationships to drive change
• You have a proven record of acquisition of new business and negotiation skills
• You have experience from growth hacking and driving sales in digital channels
• You have experience from working with scale-ups or successful startups
• You follow trends with an understanding of the technology implications of the automotive industry and the ecosystem of transport and logistics
• You are communicative and have experience of starting and running business
• You are a true team player with a doer mentality who can easily manage high complexity and uncertainty
• You have proven track record of creating effective teams and strong stakeholder management capabilities
• You have strong command, both verbal and written, of the English language
