Although the work location is flexible, the Head of the Product Costing function will be based in Stockholm. As such, it is preferable that the candidate is open to being based in Stockholm
The Costing Function is an organization within Electrolux Finance Operations which is responsible for driving the cost management agenda in New Product Development (NPD) and product lifecycle for all product lines globally. With hundreds of NPD projects on a yearly basis, the team plays an important role in developing next generations' profitable white appliances.
Within the Costing Function team, we are looking for Cost Modelers, who will be partly operational as cost modelers and partly responsible for managing GEC cost modelling resources. All Cost Modelers will be accountable for conducting detailed should cost modelling, providing should cost material to project teams, R&D, Purchasing & Manufacturing, supporting product teardowns and institutionalizing the company's costing knowledge. Moreover, Cost Modelers will work closely with Cost Managers, to support different costing activities throughout the NPD process.
Beyond these responsibilities, Cost Modelers employed directly by Electrolux will be responsible for ensuring sufficient resource capacity to cover prioritized projects, allocating resources across projects, owning, and reviewing cost models, and sharing best practices with relevant functions. Each Cost Modeler will be primarily focused on a certain component group (motors & compressors or mechanical, plastic, electrical or electronic components).

The candidate should be a motivated individual with excellent analytical skill, passionate about driving transparent, predictable, and sustainable costing throughout new product development.
Although the work location is flexible, the Costing Function will be based in Stockholm. As such, it is preferable if the candidate is open to being based in or at least spend some part of your time in Stockholm.
Working as a Cost Modeler, the candidate is responsible for:
· Gathering proposals, specifications, historical data and market trends to conduct should cost modelling, especially for new components
· Working with Cost Managers to define top-down target cost and bottom-up ambition cost
· Conducting teardowns of competitor products, incl. capturing and incorporating findings and insights
· Supporting R&D, Purchasing & Manufacturing in defining bottom-up target costing
· Providing 'should cost' material and reports to support Cost Managers in challenging engineers on module cost and in supplier quotation process
· Continuously providing data to cost database & tools e.g., TcPCM
· Applying cost methodologies, tools and appropriate software models and packages to prepare and maintain reliable and accurate data
· Ensuring sufficient resource capacity to cover prioritized projects
· Allocating resources across projects based on asks from Cost Managers
· Owning & reviewing cost models for a particular component group
· Delivering on functional KPIs to ensure that Electrolux is achieving cost excellence
· Sharing state of the art costing and best practices with other relevant functions
· Working proactively within the Costing Function to develop a best in class organization and scale it
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
· Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Management, Operations Research, Mathematics
· At least 5-6 years' professional experience, preferably in an analytical position in a manufacturing environment
· Business acumen and analytical skills with systematic approach to mass data handling, analysis, and interpretation
· Excellent presentation and communication skills
· Advanced proficiency in MS office
· Understanding from key functional areas – Purchasing, Manufacturing, Project Management, Financial Controlling, Quality Management, R&D
· Experience from product costing in a product development related context e.g., product cost optimization, value eng., DFMA, target cost ambition setting
· Experience from using automated cost models, cost database, cost factors, and/or cost estimating related tools
· Knowledge about costing tools like TcPCM, Apriori, etc. is a plus
· Experience in appliance, electronics industry or contract manufacturer is a plus
· Experience from managing a team is a plus
· Excellent in English, both written and oral
