About the company
Fortum has large scale power production, physical optimization and trading activities, mainly in Europe. The business functions (mainly Trading and Asset Optimization) optimise the price for electricity production and consumption and hedge earnings from operations, with commodity derivatives far into the future. We trade in several commodity exchanges such as Nasdaq Commodities and ICE, as well as in physical electricity markets such as Nord Pool. Hence, an in-depth understanding of the electricity business as well as relevant market knowledge are essential responsibilities for the business as well as the supporting, controlling and risk management functions in this area.
Your role
We are looking for a "Counterparty Process Owner" to join our team. As bilateral trading activities are growing, we are looking for a colleague to steer and manage the counterparty processes. This role will focus on the entire counterparty lifecycle, in order to ensure smooth processes, compliance and sound counterparty risk management. Developing the counterparty processes even further enables sustainable growth and more scalability in the area. Our team is part of a larger risk organization, which is responsible for Fortum’s risk management in general.
This position can be either located in Stockholm, Sweden or Espoo, Finland.
This is a full-time position at Fortum and Clevry is responsible for the recruitment process.
As Fortums new "Counterparty Process Owner" you:
- Act responsible for our counterparty process at an overall level
- Have profound knowledge of how the counterparty processes interlink with different risks, operational aspects, as well as business needs and compliance
- Maintain and steer counterparty contracts and internal service level agreements, together with your colleagues in the legal department and other functions
- Conduct KYC checks and ensure regulatory compliance in all processes
- Are a key person in ensuring that the exchange-related risks are sufficiently managed and are knowledgeable about terms and processes at all times
- Maintain counterparty data and ensure data quality is met
- Further develop Fortum’s counterparty processes and documentation

Your qualifications
- Three or more years of experience in a similar position, e.g. in the commodity markets or in banking
- Bachelor or Master’s degree e.g. in Economics, Finance or Business or other similar degree
- Fluency in written and spoken English. Fluency in Nordic languages are seen as an advantage, preferably swedish
- Knowledge of Power BI and CRM system(s) are beneficial
- Ability to work in a structured and analytical manner, with attention to detail
- Experience in managing several projects and interaction with internal and external stakeholders
- Good prioritization skills under pressure
- Ability to contribute to a great team spirit with your communicative and collaborative skills
