The Brand Team lead and manage our brand, how we use it across the Volvo Cars organization in a variety of dimensions such as positioning, purpose-based messaging and nomenclature. The purpose is to develop and maintain a set that ties together the look and feel of all our Brand communication materials, the Volvo Brand Standards.
As Creative Strategist at Volvo Cars, your purpose is to envision the idea behind the idea.
We are looking for a creative who can provide words and ideas that help accelerate the impact of communications. A creative who is also a strategic thinker. It isn't just about getting information in. It's about getting information out – in an interesting way.
Let us describe the challenge we offer
The mission is to both challenge and inspire our Marketing & Brand and Communications teams, as well as the rest of the company, to bring your creative and disruptive ideas to life. In this role you will be playing a key role in developing purposeful stories about the Volvo brand including our products and services. The ideal candidate is a marketing visionary who understands execution and has deep knowledge in the media landscape, social media, purposeful and bold creative ideas, in the ever-evolving communication landscapes.
What you will do
You will collaborate very closely with other Creative Directors and Brand Management teams, to create and execute ideas, as well as partner up and direct our agencies.
Creating work that makes an impact and matters, by putting yourself in the customer’s shoes; if you wouldn’t read/watch/use/share your campaign, they won’t either. We definitely see you contributing to a culture of creative excellence. We need you to be highly collaborative, entrepreneurial, driven by creative excellence and a self-starter. You have an eye for compelling creative and inspiring storytelling while inspiring people around you to see the bigger picture. You are equally comfortable in “left brain” and “right brain” problem solving – and most excited when both are deployed at the same time. By nature you demonstrate service mentality and willingness to make others succeed while showing you strong ability to influence decision-making at all levels within an organization and in a variety of contexts.
Key tasks:
• Writing briefs and stories based on insights - making the complex simple
• Set overarching messages and give clear direction how that can be transformed into different iterations and also down the purchase funnel
• Be an internal resource pointing out directions
• Strong idea visualizations skills, be the bouncing partner to agencies
Qualifications:
• University degree in relevant fields or equivalent expertise
• 10+ years’ brand-side experience with copywriting, creative, branding and strategic planning
• International working experience from US, Asia or large European markets is a must
• Strong presentation skills and interactive storytelling ability including business acumen
• At Volvo, you will be part of a cross-functional and international team, with English as a natural language for written and spoken communication so you need to have full working proficiency in English
