WHAT UTOPIANS DO
We are building a better world for music with innovative big data technology that tracks online music sources and translates them into meaningful music consumption reports for royalty collection. The solution we’re building does not threaten to usurp the role of industry incumbents - it is about bringing transparency in the industry and supporting efficient royalty collection.
WHAT YOUR ROLE WILL BE
As an integral role within the Financial Services business unit, you will focus on the credit risk of royalty advances in the music industry. You will be responsible for diversified tasks within the credit approval and monitoring process, including amongst others client analysis and rating determination, intensive collaboration with the sales organization and other business partners, evaluation of manual credit requests, presentation of credit assessments and recommendations to higher management levels. You will have the opportunity to contribute to recurring portfolio vulnerability identification and assessment including ad-hoc expert-based stress testing and reporting to management. You will be an expert at identifying automation potential and actively support simplification and digitalization of risk management tools and processes. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the credit risk in the business unit Financial Services, you will:
- Further develop the credit and counterparty risk management framework, inclusive policies, reports and tools for our royalty advance business
- Advise management and provide risk mitigation recommendations to the decision makers
- Manage the risks on the existing royalty advances
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of standard and ad-hoc risk reports
- Assist in preparation and running of risk committees
- Provide requirements and design inputs for implementation of credit risk related projects
- Coach, train and support less experienced team members
- Have intensive interaction with the sales organization and other business partners
- Evaluate credit requests
HOW TO IMPACT

- Develop and continually improve credit risk strategy, in order to minimize the company's credit risks
THE IDEAL SKILLSET
- Higher vocational training or a university degree in banking / business / financial economics or similar
- 3 - 5 years’ work experience in the area of credit risk (1st or 2nd line of defense)
- Good knowledge of financial, risk and econometric modeling
- Strong technical skills in Excel
- Well versed in using and building credit risk management systems
- Independent way of working with a hands-on mindset and analytical way of thinking
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills to cultivate effective working relationships with stakeholders across all levels
- Strong communication skills and fluent in English both verbal and written
