vacancy. This is a request for Curricula Vitae/expression of interest for the position of CROSS-CULTURAL
FACILITATORS (CCF). The successful candidates will be offered on-call consultancy contracts.
Context:
IOM country office in Finland is looking for Swedish residents with the ability to provide pre-departure
orientation for Sweden-bound quota refugees in the refugees' native languages. The orientation takes place
in the refugees' respective countries of first asylum or is conducted remotely before their resettlement in
Sweden. The successful candidate will attend a Training of Trainers (ToT) that will consist of self-study
materials, online sessions and work practice.
Core Functions/ Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for conducting the following assignments:
- Provide pre-departure orientation (PDO) sessions to Sweden-bound quota refugees living in their
countries of first asylum
- Participate in an online planning meeting prior to each PDO training
- Assess available training materials and provide feedback on them through IOM feedback
mechanisms
- Submit a report based on an IOM reporting form after each training
- Participate in monitoring and evaluation studies carried out by IOM when requested
- Assist in other duties that may be assigned to the candidate by the Sub-Regional Coordinator or the
Project Coordinator
Other:
A successful candidate should have as their native language one of the languages spoken by refugees
resettled to Sweden. Personal refugee background and personal experience with the Swedish
establishment programme, as well as with other integration activities, will be an advantage. Pedagogical
and IT skills are important and relevant assets. Prior facilitation or training experience (online or in-person) will be considered advantageous.

Remuneration and Terms of Payment:
The consultant will receive an all-inclusive consultancy fee which will be paid to the bank account indicated by the consultant based on days worked and submission of PDO reports at the end of each deployment. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered by IOM.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Personal refugee or migrant background
- Preferably a bachelor's degree in humanities, migration, education or similar fields
- Live and work or study in Sweden
- Good knowledge of Swedish society through personal experience
- Ability to work in a multicultural setting
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Good presentation and/or facilitation skills (previous experience required)
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
- Good level of computer literacy
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Willingness to develop as a cross-cultural facilitator and commitment to continuous skill development and learning
- Readiness to travel on short notice to countries where refugees are resettled from
- Organized and dependable
- Ability to work under pressure and manage stress
Language:
- Fluent command of spoken and written Swedish and English are required, in addition to one of
the following languages: Arabic, Sudanese Colloquial Arabic, French, Congolese Swahili, Dinka, Tigrinya, Amharic, Dari/Farsi.
