Arbetsbeskrivning
Division Crushing & Screening, part of Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology, is a market leading manufacturer of stone crushers and screening equipment for the mining and construction industries. Right now, we’re looking for a driven, fact-finding and networking Crushing Process Specialist. In this exciting role, you get to combine strategy with hands-on work as you support us in strengthening our productivity and enhancing our offering. We welcome you to our R&D department – a diverse and developing environment with many brilliant minds, strong engineering roots and a genuine desire to develop tomorrow’s solutions. We’re ready for a bright future of tech, innovation and new ideas, are you ready to join us?
About the job
As a Crushing Process Specialist you have a central role in developing mathematical models and systems simulations for our crushing and screening equipment and processes – supporting us in making the change from one single machine to a complete solution. In fact, your simulations will become vital as we shift our business from transactional to performance focus. You analyze, calculate and evaluate different parameters and you implement various controls to verify that we reach our objectives. You look at our processes from a holistic perspective – while still making deep dives into machine features – as you aim to explore how we can optimize designs, productivity and flows. You also keep a close eye on technology trends, digitalization and new innovations.
You take lead in your own projects and are overall responsible for your work, although you do collaborate and closely interact with your colleagues within the R&D department and other key stakeholders to make sure we’re successful. On top of this, we have a newly created digital and high tech unit, and you partner up with them in connecting digital to the actual money maker of our division - our crushers!
This position is based at our division headquarters in Svedala – a fast and easy commute from surrounding cities, such as Malmö, Lund and Ystad, and with our site located just across from the train station.
About you
We’re looking for someone with strong expertise and many years’ experience from mathematical modelling, simulations and controls. You know how to develop systems simulation capability in an industry setting, and we consider knowledge of the mining and construction industry - and especially from crushing equipment - as very beneficial. You’re also someone who is genuinely eager to find out how these simulations can help differentiate the business for Sandvik, towards offering performance and not only equipment. Your background includes a relevant academic degree, probably within Engineering or Automation, and postgraduate studies are advantageous. As we operate worldwide, you also need good communication skills in English.
You’re curious, self-motivated, collaborative and flexible, and you combine this with structured ways of working and a passion for deep analysis and development. By mixing details and the bigger picture, you make sure to reach results, and you prioritize tasks and follow up on our work. You create strong networks and use communication as an everyday tool for success, and you enjoy solving complex problems and sharing knowledge with others.
Our culture
At Sandvik, we believe in finding that perfect mix between work, family life and interests, and we happily support our employees in balancing this. For us, it’s also clear that our diversities form an amazing foundation for achieving great results. Visit our stories hub, LinkedIn or Facebook to get to know us further.
