Customer Applications Director

Role Summary/Purpose:

We are looking for an expert in Biopharma processing field with excellent knowledge in process design, process engineering, process optimization, and process economics ranging from cells to finished drug product (biotherapeutics and/or vaccines).

Essential Responsibilities:

The role is customer facing and involves representing GEHC BioProcess in conferences, seminars, business meetings, and customer driven projects as well as internal service to GEHC R&D, Marketing, and Commercial functions as knowledge leader in the field. Regular global travel is required.


Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Work as trusted source of expertise on GEHC processing & development solutions vs. customers (eye-level dialogue) and for GEHC expertise seeking functions
Develop global network of biopharma and vaccine industry process science and engineering thought leaders, make use of it for GEHC business benefit
Establish a position as ?thought leader? in bioprocessing and bioengineering demonstrated via conference and session chair nominations, advisory board membership, and regular speaker invitations (mid to long term)
Support R&D in collaborations and with user requirement specifications in major BioProcess projects (extracting relevant URS from customers and define / translate them into GEHC business context)
Support Marketing & Commercial teams globally with expert material and own activities in events such as local seminar series, webinars, and publications
Develop comprehensive ?library? of cost / value case studies supporting the generation of economic performance related arguments for BioProcess range of offerings ? from expert publications to account manager sound-bite level
Embed in R&D as project leader for one significant project in BioProcess R&D (tbc)
Publish regularly in journals, books, and as presenter
Attend main conferences in the field, engage with the organizers, advise on contents, offer contributions (talks, posters), both local / regional and global events
Advise, coach, mentor GEHC staff on biopharma industry applications and business aspects
Qualifications/Requirements:

5-10 years of experience in bioprocessing focused expert role
Experience from direct or supporting involvement in development and manufacturing of biotherapeutics and/or vaccines
Solid project leadership skills and experience
Strong skills in both process and economic modelling
Strong skills in process design strategies
Biology / Biochemistry / Process Engineering education, preferably PhD level
Comfortable with customer facing situations, presentations, and discussions / debates
Comfortable in both technical and commercial discussions
EU work permit

Excellent communication (English) and interpersonal skills
Additional language(s) are most welcome
Complementary deep specific skills in vaccines, upstream processing, and/or facility engineering
Management experience as team or unit leader
