Where You’ll Belong 
At Electric Propulsion we constitute the core competence center in Northern Europe regarding Li-ion technology and automotive battery systems. We are responsible for future cell strategies and to support cell suppliers and material companies to develop tailormade cells for Volvo Cars, but also to find solutions for Polestar, Lotus, Lync&co, Zeekr and Geely. 

We are growing fast within the cell and cell integration area with a high possibility of influencing way of working and future technology. By bottom-up technical decisions, we ensure that your voice will be heard.

Then the role as Customer Analysis Engineer in our Cell Durability team is the place for you to prosper. Together we ensure battery durability that makes us leaders in electrification.

What You’ll Do
You will map and understand our customers driving and charging behavior to estimate the battery degradation of the fleet. You will give input on data that should be logged in the vehicles for better predictions in the future. In addition, you will be involved in the method development of tools used to better predict future customer battery usage. 

Let’s Dig into the Tech! 
We are divided into five focus areas, safety, durability, performance, design and integration. Each of these competence areas is responsible for cell and module delivery into our vehicles. The battery packs are designed and assembled in-house which requires a close relationship between the different design teams to ensure the vehicle requirements are fulfilled. We also have close contact with our cell suppliers and work in close cooperation with calibration, CAE and testing. 

You will get the chance to be involved from the concept phase to the vehicle release. You will also be a part of aftermarket activities such as customer study on vehicles that have been several years on the field and quality improvement activities.

For the future we collaborate closely with universities, establish a research team in California and we now have a joint venture with Northvolt.

Your Competence
You have experience in building data pipelines, data transformation and data visualization. You also have experience with big data and have documented skills using Python and scientific packages like NumPy, Pandas etc. You are analytical and love problem-solving. 

It is beneficial if you have a chemistry background and/or knowledge of battery cells. If you in addition have experience with tools such as, Kubeflow, Apache Spark, Dask or similar, then it is star potential. 

To thrive in the role, you need to appreciate working with a large amount of data. It is creative and challenging work in a new field with many new areas to discover. We interact a lot with different internal stakeholders due to that the cell is a key component and a lot of teams depend on our input. For us, it is important that you enjoy sharing information and knowledge with your colleagues.
