Northvolt is building the largest lithium-ion battery factory in Europe. We are currently in an exciting fast growing phase and operate in a busy, fast moving environment, preparing for factory construction to start in 2018. We are staffing our international project office in Stockholm and preparing upcoming recruitments for the establishment of the R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås and the main factory, Northvolt Ett, in Skellefteå.

Education in relevant quality discipline
5+ years of relevant work experience within high volume production
Experience of qualification processes and/or parts in the automotive industry
Specific training in the automotive Production Parts Approval Process
Knowledge and experience of applying IATF 16949:2016
Experience in developing processes, standards and documentation in an efficient way to meet customer requirements
Project management skills and a successful track record of leading quality improvement and qualification projects in manufacturing
Experience from testing and development of new equipment and manufacturing processes
Knowledgeable in Lean and TQM
Six sigma training and familiar with DOE, SPC, D/P FMEA, Quality troubleshooting tools and problem solving methodology
Curious, technically educated and preferrably with a strong business background Northvolt has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Automotive Customer Quality Engineer to initially join our bold project team in Stockholm and later on transfer to either Västerås or Skellefteå, where we start production within the next few years.
In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.
We are continuously building a team of experienced Quality Engineers and great leaders with industry backgound.
You will be in charge of developing, defining and executing the qualification process and documentation for Northvolts customers, initially focusing on the automotive sector, reporting to the Director of Quality. You will ensure that the quality of Northvolt products meets or exceeds our customer expectations and will proactively work with the customers to meet their requirements.
The Quality Engineers will be experts in one or several defined process areas which includes deep knowledge in quality process design, automotive PPAP, end to end qualification, quality control and assurance, quality managemnt (i.e. according to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949:2016), process robustness and control design etc. You will play an important role to lead and co-ordinate qualification in customer projects, collaborating with Northvolt Business Development, equipment design and development teams and process engineers to efficiently achieve a high standard battery qualification process.
The Customer Quality Engineer will primarily and initially support the Business Development, Process engineer, Supply-Chain and R&D teams to create a world class production of li-ion battery cells.
In general you have a long experience from customer quality management, specifically in the automotive industry, and have been driving large, innovative and challenging projects in the area of quality, qualification, continuous improvements, efficiency and optimisation. Specifically, you have a deep understanding of working and cooperating cross-functionally in a multicultural environment with Business Development/Marketing, R&D, Production, Maintenance, IT and Automation.
The candidate should be analytical and logical with an ability to identify opportunities and improvements to drive increased quality through data driven approaches. The candidate should have strong technical abilities in order to succeed in this role.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leading projects to complete the customer qualification process including documentation
Owning and developing, standardizing and executing the automotive Production Parts Approval Process
Oversee completion of all parts of the qualification process including DFMEA, PFMEA and control plan with R&D and Process team
Oversee qualification of raw materials, equipment installation and performance including documentation as required by the PPAP
Work across many parts of the organisation, collaborating with business development, technical, design and development team, process engineering and automation
