Saab is looking for a new member to strengthen the Customs & Shipping group function. The Customs and Shipping Manager at Saab is a new corporate functional role and will be a part of the Group Tax Team reporting to the Head of Group Tax. The Customs and Shipping Manager is a key company person to ensure compliance within the customs and shipping area for the realization of the future logistics flow in the Group from a customs and shipping perspective. You will play an important role within the organization regarding Customs and Shipping queries in a growing Company with increased international footprint and increased business complexity!
Your role
In this position, you will play a key role within the organization regarding customs and shipping compliance and support the business with queries relating to this area - always with the aim to find cost efficient solutions and generate savings in customs and shipping expenditure. You will ensure that all customs duties are optimized by the application of applicable customs procedures. As a Customs and Shipping Manager, you will monitor and ensure implementation of regulatory developments, identify compliance risks and implement solutions for mitigating these. You will work in close cooperation and interface with our Customs & Shipping specialist group.
You will also be the driving force in continuous improvements on an operational and strategic level in order to harmonize and standardize customs and shipping issues. You will work to improve procedures and establish policies, corporate guidelines and routines and propose improvements within the customs and shipping area and contribute knowledge to develop Saab's work processes and systems. You will continuously drive the work in optimizing Saab´s processes, strategies and workflow and finding synergies between customs and shipping. This includes collaborating across all levels within the Saab Group, such as Group Tax and other functions within Finance, Export Control and Group Legal Affairs. You will also perform self-inspections and internal control to ensure compliance with AEO certification and handle customs audits and all other queries from the Customs authorities.

Your profile
To be successful in this role, you have at least five years of experience within the field of customs and shipping compliance as well as an understanding of the interaction of customs with VAT and transfer pricing. You have good IT skills and the ability to prepare and process data to report on trends and common themes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Swedish and English. It is desirable that you have a Bachelor/Master degree or equivalent in a relevant area - law, business law, industrial economy and/or engineering.
You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop effective relationships and partnerships with your stakeholders. Your skill to flourish in a team environment as well as work independently describes you well. You have a pragmatic and analytic approach, solution driven using creative and diverse ways to approach a problem or answer a question. A strong understanding of VAT and experience within project management are desirable. You demonstrate confidence, credibility and good judgment.

What you will be a part of
You will be part of Group Tax (Group Finance) reporting to our Head of Group Tax. Group Tax has the overall responsibility for direct and indirect taxes and customs duties and consists of four tax professionals (including Head of Group Tax) and one company administrator. In your daily work you will work closely together with both Group Tax team and Customs & Shipping specialist group within Saab. The Customs & Shipping specialist group is responsible for the daily operational execution of the business contracts. This role is based in Linköping. This position requires that you will be approved in a security screening in accordance with the Swedish Protective Security Act.
