Service Market Logistics is part of Group Trucks Operations. Our job is to develop, manage and optimize the Service Market supply chain for all Volvo Group brands and Joint Ventures. The scope for Service Market Logistics includes Flow Optimization, Inventory Management, Distribution Center operations, Customs & Trade as well as the development of logistics solutions to ensure highest possible parts availability, delivery precision and quality globally. Customs Compliance Manager
The Volvo Group Customs & Trade and Export Control organization (CTEC) is responsible to ensure compliance to customs rules & regulations and optimize Volvo Group processes to reduce duty related costs globally. We are about 100 employees around the world with expertise in Customs regulations. We now need to strengthen the Swedish Customs Compliance team with a Customs Compliance Manager.
In this position you will act as Volvo’s primary contact towards the Customs authorities; explain Volvo standards and how we fulfill regulation requirements. You will also take lead or assist in internal/external audits & manage relevant Certifications and Licenses. It is required of you that you have deep knowledge of the rules and keep updated on relevant regulations in the responsibility area. You will work closely with other departments and brokers to ensure compliance to customs regulations.
As we are determined to be in the driving seat of the ongoing digital/automation journey it is important that you embrace change and take active part in the development and usage of new tools in the toolbox, this to be able to optimize the use of our data and drive a continuous improvement mindset.
This is how you could make an impact
Secure an adequate level of Compliance Control by performing internal controls and assessments, post control etc.
Customs Broker Management activities such as SOP definition & Broker Controls.
Measure compliance levels in operational functions.
Maintain accurate record keeping and retention process.
Lead /define and follow-up activities to address compliance deviations found.
Identify Compliance Risks & Optimization opportunities within responsibility area.
Perform customs assessments for all sites to support on customs processes improvement and optimization and to find potentials for customs related savings.
Analyze trade/PI data to find improvement areas, and/or to report to management. E.g., Duty relief processes, PIs reported from broker etc.
Cooperate closely with Master Data Specialists and others to initiate necessary development or implementation of customs processes within the region.
Implement processes and necessary routines within responsibility area according to roadmap.
Propose process improvements & contribute to strategic program (ideas & work).
Who are you and are we the perfect match?
Degree in Customs, Logistics, or International Business.
3-5 years with Customs, logistics or compliance experience.
Proficiency in the English language is required.
High level skills on Microsoft applications are beneficial.
Expertise in relevant Customs Compliance rulings and regulations.
Good understanding of the Volvo Group Businesses.
Excellent communication skills.
Self-motivated, take initiatives to change process and procedures. Demonstrated ability to work independently without direct supervision.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to Detail: Monitoring adherence to standards and actively checking for accuracy of data received or generated before passing it on.
High skills in building strong networks/relationships with other departments.
Professionalism: Dealing directly and forthrightly with people and problems, persisting to get the job done.
A 'change to stay ahead' mindset.
Travel
Occasional travelling is required.
