Country Finance Sweden is Sandvik?s central function for accounting services and a business partner for Sandvik's operations in Sweden. As a ONE SANDVIK initiative and a step towards decreasing corporate risk through increasing compliance, the customs operation in Sweden will be centralized. A new organization, residing in the Country Finance Organization, will be put in place with the purpose of handling all import/export declarations and working more strategically with customs in order to increase quality and utilize possible duty drawbacks. This new organization needs to be managed by a strong and passionate leader, which is why we are looking for a Customs Manager in Sweden. The position will be part of the Country Finance management team in close cooperation with the Group Function Trade Compliance. The location for this position is Sandviken.
Key performance areas
As Customs Manager your mission is to establish a Swedish customs center and support the business in building a strong customs operation. Challenges include motivating a team of people to promote this change. You set the overall customs strategy for Swedish customs center, develop collaboration with all internal customers (production units) and support them in finding the best possible solutions for their respective businesses.
Managing and executing strategic, proactive and analytical work are part of your responsibilities, and you manage and chair an internal Swedish Customs Network with representatives from all production units in Sweden. You design and implement common routines and guidelines for the Swedish customs center SCCC and the production units with your strategic customs skills. You also lead the continual improvement work related to customs procedures, in order to improve efficiency and automation.
Your responsibilities also include:
- Actively participating in customs and governmental trade forums
- Coordinating and conducting improvement activities within Swedish customs center and with the production units
- Being the individual formally responsible for all import/export into/from Sweden and the contact person for Swedish authorities
- Establishing, measuring and following up on Customs costs and KPIs according to set targets
- Developing and conducting direct training and education sessions in all areas of customs for the BA's
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a degree in Management, Logistics, Engineering or another relevant field, with a background in Customs or Finance and at least five years' leadership experience in a challenging and changing environment.
