About us
The Global Customs Master Data team creates the basis and the backbone to ensure smooth customs and export control screening operations by securing HTS and Export Control classification, collection of origin information and ensuring FTA qualification, authorizations, licenses and special procedures. Most importantly, the team is on a journey with a clear focus to drive and support the next generation of cars and enable the business to take the right decisions during product creation and purchasing. With our knowledge and expertise within customs and international trade rules, regulations and compliance requirement we ensure that customs are included as a key element. This will also allow us to utilize the mission within the team – to work more tactic and predict future business. We want to make sure that we are doing the right thing at the right time. What you will do
In the role as Customs Specialist you will drive customs and international trade issues towards key internal stakeholders to ensure that trade rules, regulations, and compliance requirements are included in the product creation and purchasing processes.
You will also provide the foundation (classification, origin, FTA’s, licenses, special procedures etc) of the import and export process within Customs which involve working with multiple data sources and suppliers etc. You will be working closely with the other four teams within Customs & Export Control (Project & Strategy, Operations, Export Control and Governance) in different initiatives where you will be representing the Global Customs Master Data team to ensure that all areas within the team’s scope are aligned and prepared.
Do you fit the profile?
To be successful in this role you should have at least three years of experience in customs working with special procedures, classification, origin and free trade agreements in a large global organization, consulting firm or similar.
You need to be able to drive change and improvements. You are curious and eager to learn and accomplish results. In this role it is also beneficial if you are structured, analytical and results oriented and have a strong personal drive to get things done. We also see that you have a natural ability to seek information what is happening in the world that affects customs and trade within Volvo Cars. We want you to have the ability to work in teams, individually and in a multicultural environment. You need to be fluent in English (both written and spoken).
