Arbetsbeskrivning

Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.

What we offer
Volvo Cars is on an ambitious journey to redefine the customer experience in automotive through digital technology. Electrification, Autonomous Drive and Shared Mobility are enablers for our purpose – freedom to move in a personal, sustainable and safe way.
Software engineering is an increasingly important area in the automotive industry. Volvo Cars is bringing more of the software development in-house to better handle continuous integration and the complex interactions between different functions. Connectivity is an enabler for most vehicle functions but also introduces privacy and cybersecurity risks that needs to be managed through innovative and robust designs.
The unit Connected Experience within Volvo Cars R&D is responsible for providing the best and most secure connectivity experience in the automotive industry. We have been connecting our cars for more than two decades, and by now connectivity is one of the most important enablers for doing business in the automotive industry.

Cybersecurity is therefore of paramount importance. We have local teams specializing in different technology areas in the end-2-end connectivity chain, and we are now looking for a cybersecurity solution architect with the capability of having a holistic view and continuously drive our evolution across car, telecom network and cloud.
What you’ll do
You will be a part of a network of technical specialists and architects across Volvo Cars. In collaboration, you will propose and develop our technology plan for Cyber Security on a global market at scale.
You will drive architectural design patterns, methods and processes for end-2-end Cybersecurity (e.g. embedded, telecom networks, cloud) with support of respective domain’s cybersecurity teams. You will facilitate risk management reviews and mitigation strategies together with Product Managers and cybersecurity community, and drive implementation of cybersecurity management processes and methods for Connected Experience.
You will be involved in technology scouting and strategic R&D work, aligning to regulatory framework development on a global market. Cross-sector solution collaborations, emerging technologies initiatives and research projects might also be part of your day-to-day work, as well representing Volvo Cars in relevant committees and conferences to facilitate our technology plan.
Strengthening the cybersecurity awareness and culture is key to our success, and you will be responsible to develop the organization’s knowledge by training, mentoring and coaching related to cybersecurity. You will also evaluate and recommend suppliers and tools in the area.

Do you fit the profile?

For you to fully enjoy this opportunity, we believe that you have a background in software or information technology with at least a Master’s Degree or equivalent.

You have a long professional experience in cybersecurity and an excellent knowledge in and hands-on experience of software development and software architecture (embedded and/or cloud). You also have a good understanding of the regulatory framework on the global market, of data protection and privacy by design. You have a proven ability to analyze and make recommendations for technical design, to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders and to drive continuous improvements.
