Do you have a passion for cybersecurity?
Volvo vehicles, like our trucks, are getting more and more connected in a variety of technical solutions, each and every area needs to be tested from a security perspective. We are looking for a hands-on security person with the will to lead to join our cybersecurity test team. You will join us in validation activities to ensure the security of the Volvo group assets like vehicles, services or other systems connected to the Volvo products.
As part of the team you will support your colleagues by creating a cybersecurity mindset in everything you do. You are not only a part of the team performing penetration tests, but you also need to lead the work in introducing security processes and coaching others.
The team has no technical or organizational boundaries when it comes to security exploration, however we always keep in mind we’re the good ones. We tread carefully in our endeavors and cooperate with colleagues across the company, for example, cybersecurity specialists, Product Owners and agile development teams. As a member of the team you are expected to lead where you can, plan and prioritize your own work as well as the overall team workload.
The high variety of technical areas enforces the team to continuous learn and develop. We love to ask questions and find new test methods and security tools. We automate our work when suitable. All this means, you need to be someone who likes to work in different technical focus areas and can easily switch between tasks and test scopes.
Who are you?
Besides from being passionate about security, most importantly, you need to have the will to be hands on within cybersecurity. If you have that and an endless curiosity you might be the ONE! If you’re still unsure we have listed some other areas we value below.
A deeper security knowledge in one of these focus areas is a merit:
Automotive domain network knowledge, e.g. CAN-, LIN-, Automotive Ethernet-networks etc.
Wireless communication, e.g. WiFi, Bluetooth, RF etc.
Embedded Systems
Linux, Android and/or iOS
Network security
Cryptography
Programming and/or scripting skills
We also value these skills:
Teaching
Leadership
Troubleshooting or fault tracing
Common sense
Process development & audit experience
You will have colleagues from around the globe, so you need to be fluent in written and spoken English. Automotive experience is not a must.
Who are we?
In essence we are highly motivated and skilled engineers that love our work and use our creativity and tools to secure company assets. As a part of this team, you will get a good overview of the different vehicles’ complete electrical system and functionality.
We trust the individual and we act as a team. We focus on contributing to the bigger picture at the company and there is always an opportunity for professional and personal growth.
