Get an idea of the role

As our new Data Analyst, you will play an essential part in Resurs’ development towards our goal of putting data alongside our customers at the centre of our decision-making. To achieve this, you will contribute towards the development of a new company-wide data warehouse, as well as taking the role as System Admin for Resurs’ SAS environment, to make sure end users have easy access to high quality data.

We’re open-minded when it comes to previous experience: Whilst experience working with data management and/or SAS would be an advantage, the most important factors are proven excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail. More experienced applicants would be expected to take more of a leading role in the group.

The role will initially focus on working with data in the Credit Risk team, but will develop over time to cover areas across the business.

Data analysis:


• Identifying and collecting new sources of data, mainly following requests from around the business but also pro-actively
• Organising data into usable formats within the data warehouse structure
• Analysing, reporting, and improving data quality
• Ensuring that data usage is consistent with data governance and data protection policy
• Assisting with the management of Resurs’ data dictionaries
• Managing access, so that authorised groups have access to relevant data

System admin (SAS):


• Maintain SAS analytical tools on behalf of the system owner, to make sure that tools are available and efficient for end users
• Act as single point of contact for users, IT operations, and external suppliers regarding SAS environments
• Manage SAS batch processes using task scheduling tools, to make sure that data extracts and reports are created correctly.

On a personal level

Essential:


• Programming experience, and ability to demonstrate understanding of key concepts
• Strong numeracy skills
• Analytical ability to identify patterns in data, and root causes to problems
• Excellent at solving problems
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-driven
• Able to communicate in English, both in speech and writing
• Able to communicate complex ideas in a way that is easy to understand.

Ideal:


• Understanding of databases such as SQL Server or Oracle.
• Experience of working with reporting & data visualisation tools such as SAS Visual Analytics, Business Objects, Power BI, Tableau or Qlik
• Competence in SAS programming
• Experience working with data within financial services
• Fluent in both English and a Scandinavian language
