Data Analytics Engineer– Energy Storage System

At Volvo Group Trucks Technology, we are currently looking for Data Analytics Engineer to join the Energy Storage System Functions & BMS group.

The ESS functions and BMS group is responsible for development of battery management system and system design of ESS functions used in all Volvos’ electric products, such as, busses, trucks, construction equipment, and marine applications. Organizationally we belong to Electromobility, which was formed to be in the forefront of environmentally friendly transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow.
The Electromobility department combines the benefits of a large international company with the feeling of working at a small company. There is close collaboration between different parts of the organization from sales and purchasing to workshops and labs all located in the modern, inspiring facility CampX.

Who are you?


To be successful in this position you need to be a team player with strong collaboration/networking skills and have an analytic mindset of a true problem solver. You also need to be open-minded, self-motivated, and meticulous with independent critical thinking in your problem-solving approach. You have experience from automotive industry, Battery Management System, software development with great attitude and willingness to learn and take more responsibility with time in practical automotive applications.


What will you do:
The responsibilities include but not limited to:
Develop and apply data analytics for verification of battery system performance
Create models, and develop the improvement plans and targets to optimize the battery management system
Analyze data from vehicles to compare and validate battery health, life and performance over time
Develop Predictive Maintenance models
Ensure that data analysis output is used to improve the products.
Support in issue root causes analysis and propose actions based on data analysis output

In addition, we believe you have the following:
Master of Science in control systems, mechatronics, electrical engineering, signal processing, or engineering physics.
Experience from Battery Management System different functions both hardware and Software
Experience from data extraction, modelling, optimization and development of algorithms and services related to the analyzed data
Experience from Embedded system and software development
Fluent in both written and spoken English.
