Job specific key tasks and responsibilities
• Analyse and define master and meta data architecture patterns and propose alternatives to improve the overall integrity of the data architecture and how data is collected and shared across the organisation
• Responsible for the translation of business needs into information and data architecture guidance, and design, including conceptual, logical and physical models enabling deployment and scale
• Develop and implement data and meta data principles, guidelines, frameworks as well as data and information models and concepts to ensure effective and efficient usage of data and information in a sub-domain
• Develop ways of working around data modelling, data structure design, and data flow with tool support and reference models to increase usage, re-use and consistency of data end-to-end
• Develop models and templates for multiple perspectives and dimensions such as a domain, sub-domain, system, master data, reference data, meta data, data sharing, privacy, data eco-system including external and partner data assets to optimise the business outcomes
KNOWLEDGE
Good knowledge of patterns and different types of data architectures covering e.g. big data with streaming, batch, IoT (Internet of Things), and unstructured data
• Basic knowledge of data and analytics design in cloud environments e.g. Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services
• Good knowledge of data and analytics development and design such as with SQL, NoSQL, GQL, Python, Apache Beam, Kafka
• Basic knowledge of DevOps and Agile development practices, in which requirements and solutions evolve through the collaborative effort of self-organising cross-functional teams
• Basic understanding of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence

• Ability to actively acquire new knowledge and skills and champion new methods, digital systems and processes to improve performance
• Ability to understand and define symptoms and underlying data architecture problems

• Ability to communicate effectively across organisational, business, and technical boundaries utilising written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to capture, interpret and translate business requirements in terms of information, data and technical architecture, database technology and data model design
Key previous experiences and proven skills
• Formal qualifications (BSc, MSc, PhD) in information technology, or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience within data and analytics
• Minimum 3 years of experience of architecture frameworks and establishing ways of working, enabling speed and flexibility of the data and information landscape such as with TOGAF, DAMA, Zachman
• Experience working with data processing and data modelling
• Demonstrable experience working in Agile or DevOps communities of engineering practice
